From Vienna to the Pampas
Wednesday, December 17th, 2025 at 7:30pm
Joseph Strug Concert Hall, Fountain School of Performing Arts
1385 Seymour St, Halifax
This vibrant program connects composers across continents and centuries through the shared language of folk spirit and expressive storytelling. A Mozart violin/viola duo opens with elegance and wit, Kodály’s Intermezzo for string trio adds Hungarian rustic flair, and Ginastera’s Pampeana No. 1 (violin and piano) delivers fiery Argentine passion. The evening closes with Dohnányi’s lush and dramatic Piano Quartet - a youthful masterpiece blending Romantic sweep with Hungarian soul. A program of bold voices, cultural threads, and music in conversation.
