Epic Scale

Dominic Desautels opens tonight's concert, joined by one of our Young Artists, for Poulenc's sonata for two clarinets - energetic, cheeky, lots of fun! Peter Allen brings us Busoni's imposing transcription of the iconic Bach Chaconne, and after intermission we hear another mighty work: Ernest Chausson's innovative double concerto, which brims with all the virtuosity and passion of high Romanticism.
