Opening Gala

Monday, May 29 at 7:30pm
Joseph Strug Concert Hall, Fountain School of Performing Arts
1385 Seymour St, Halifax

Steve Reich’s hypnotic rhythms for two marimbas open our festival this year—followed by a rare and scintillating quartet for four violins (why not, when you have four violin virtuosos on hand?), Ravel’s magnificent ode to the waltz, and a beloved and spectacular classic from Felix Mendelssohn. The opening concert of our festival is always exciting, and this year we have made it a special gala event! Join us for a reception after the show.
